WEEKLY CALENDAR / CALENDARIO SEMANAL

When our little girl started kindergarten we noticed she had trouble knowing what days she had to go to school and what days she would stay home and at the same time we then realized that she had to learn the whole concept of days and weeks. Inspired by Waldorf calendars where kids could understand more visually the concept of time we decided to make our own. Using the Guineuoak idea of a little fox and its tail made of an oak leaf we made a weekly calendar where our Guineuoak figure transits from every day of the week through its different oak leaf-tails. Every day is represented by a leaf with a different color inspired by the shades of nature.

This weekly calendar will make the passage of time for the child more enjoyable and comprehensive. Being able to visually position themselves at a point in the week will give them a better understanding of the moment they are in and will help them anticipate events. Including this routine in your child's morning habits will make mornings more playful and easygoing for sure! At least to our family, it has been like that!

Cuando nuestra hija comenzó la escuela, notamos que le costaba saber qué días tenía que ir a la escuela y qué días se quedaba en casa y del mismo modo, nos dimos cuenta de que aún tenía que aprender el concepto de días y semanas, de hecho. Inspirándonos en los calendarios Waldorf donde los niños podían entender más visualmente el concepto del tiempo, decidimos hacer nuestro propio calendario semanal. Partiendo de nuestra idea de Guineuoak ; un pequeño zorro y su cola de hoja de roble hemos creado un calendario semanal donde nuestra figura de Guineuoak transita por los días de la semana pasando a través de sus diferentes colas-hoja de roble. Cada día está representado por una hoja con un color diferente inspirado en las tonalidades de la naturaleza.

El Calendario semanal hará que el paso del tiempo para el niño sea más ameno y comprensivo. Poder situarse visualmente en un punto de la semana les hara tener un mejor entendimiento del momento en que se encuentran y les ayudará a anticipar acontecimientos. Incluyendo esta rutina a los hábitos matutinos de su hijo, hará que las mañanas sean más divertidas y tranquilas. ¡Al menos para nuestra familia ha sido así!
